Privacy Policy
Common Ground is a free parent navigation resource provided by Texas ABA Centers. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights — in plain English.
Who We Are
Common Ground (texasabacenterscg.com) is a parent navigation system operated by Texas ABA Centers. It is designed to help families of children with autism understand ABA therapy, find local resources, and navigate each stage of their journey. The site is free and does not require an account to use.
Texas ABA Centers is headquartered in Houston, Texas. For questions about this policy, contact us at info@texasabacenters.com or (832) 402-4144.
What Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to operate the site.
When you use the ABA Guide chat assistant, your messages are sent to OpenAI to generate a response. We do not store your chat history on our servers. OpenAI may retain messages per their own privacy policy at openai.com/privacy. Do not include personal health information, your child's name, or identifying details in chat.
We collect standard web analytics — pages visited, time on site, device type, browser, and general geographic region (state/city level only). This data is anonymous and used to improve the site. We do not collect your name, email, or any personally identifying information through analytics.
Common Ground does not require you to create an account. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or payment information. The site is fully anonymous to use.
AI Disclosure (Required by Texas Law)
This site uses artificial intelligence. The ABA Guide chat assistant is powered by GPT-4o-mini, a large language model developed by OpenAI. This disclosure is required by Texas House Bill 149, effective January 2026.
Important limitations:
- •The ABA Guide is an educational assistant only — it does not provide medical advice, clinical recommendations, or diagnoses.
- •It is not a licensed clinician and cannot replace your child's BCBA or treatment team.
- •AI responses may contain errors. Always verify clinical information with a licensed professional.
- •Do not share protected health information (PHI), diagnoses, or treatment details in the chat.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and improve the Common Ground website and Care Navigation tools
- Generate AI responses to your chat questions via OpenAI
- Understand which resources and pages are most helpful to families
- Diagnose technical issues and improve site performance
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for marketing purposes.

HIPAA Notice
Common Ground is a public educational resource — it is not a covered entity under HIPAA and does not create, store, or transmit protected health information (PHI). The site does not collect medical records, clinical diagnoses, or treatment data.
If you are a current Texas ABA Centers client seeking clinical support, please use the secure Client Portal rather than the public chat assistant.
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Common Ground is designed for parents and adult caregivers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, please contact us immediately at info@texasabacenters.com.
Your Rights
Because we collect minimal data and require no account, most standard privacy rights (access, deletion, correction) do not apply in practice — we simply don't have personal data associated with you to access or delete.
If you have questions about what data may have been collected or want to request deletion of any analytics data, contact us at info@texasabacenters.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the site.
